Poker room popularity is increasing every day. Nowadays it is not only American game. We can proudly admit that it is played all over the world. And Eastern Muslim countries are no exclusion. The game has become very popular there. Every other sheikh is a passionate gambler. But of course, East is East and eastern poker room is somehow differs from the traditional version. And the main difference is that it is played not for chips and even not for cash, but for… wives. Yes, this high-stakes game is only for very rich sheikhs who have more than 40 wives. The game is called Saudi Hold’em because somebody should always hold the wives who are already in the pot, otherwise they will run away.
Saudi Hold’em is allowed only in special poker rooms like the online roulette. Usually the house takes 1 up to 3 wives as an entry fee. The dialogues at a typical Eastern poker table are almost the same as those at any American casino. It goes something like this:
“I bet three wives”
“I raise to ten”
“Allah, save us, I move all-in. The entire harem!”
Online poker games are also very popular among sheikhs. They have an option to play either for real wives or for play wives (which is not very popular as no one needs several dozens of rubber dolls).
Some of the American poker room holders like the idea of holding Saudi Hold’em tournaments in Las Vegas. However, it is quite difficult, as practice has shown that American women say a lot but not “Yes, my Master,” after they hear “Move to the other corner of the room, you are already in the pot”.
